IPL 2021: RCB all-rounder Daniel Sams tests positive for Covid-19 ahead of tournament opener
RCB all-rounder Daniel Sams has tested positive for Covid-19.
This is the 4th instance of an IPL 2021 player testing poitive for the coronavirus. Delhi Capitals' Axar Patel and KKR's Nitish Rana had also tested positive for Covid-19 after entering the mandatory 7-day hotel quarantine.
RCB can now miss the services of both Daniel Sams and Devdutt Padikkal in their starting few matches of the 14th edition which kickstarts with their clash against Mumbai Indians on April 9.
Around 10 groundsmen are reported to have tested positive for Covid-19 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
According to reports, there are 19 groundsmen who work at the Wankhede stadium and the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), in the last week of March, had made their employees undergo the Covid-19 test. While three people tested positive for Covid-19 on March 26, in another round of tests, five more people were found to be positive for the virus on April 1. Two more groundsmen are reported to tested positive later.
