The Delhi govt has granted permission to farmers to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar, subject to following all COVID protocols. The Delhi Police, however, said it has not given written permission to the farmers so far, to gather near the Parliament.

Around 200 farmers will hold protests outside Parliament every day between 11 am to 5 pm from July 22 to Aug 9. Earlier this week, officials of the Delhi Police had met a delegation of farmers ahead of their planned protest.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, has planned that around 200 farmers will hold protests outside Parliament every day from July 22 during the monsoon session to demand scrapping of the contentious farm laws and a legal guarantee on MSP.

"Our 200 people will go from Singhu border in four to five buses tomorrow. We will gather (from different protest sites) at Singhu border and head towards (Jantar Mantar). We will protest at Jantar Mantar until the monsoon session of Parliament is over," said Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait.
